I am a sports fanatic, especially football, hockey, and baseball. In truth I had never been a fan of boxing. I have read several other sports-themed romances that features other boxers and mixed martial arts (MMA) and have enjoyed them. As a child of the 80's, I have been forced to watch the Rocky movies far too many times so boxers have never really appealed to me. I wasn't sure what to expect, especially after taking a look at the cover. I think the hero looks Rocky-esque and Sly Stallone is not my definition of sexy heroes.

When I started to read, almost from the opening line, I became more and more captured by the story, the characters, and the words on the page. To me, this book has it all. The writing is well-crafted and free from the nagging grammatical issues. The words float smoothly on the page. There was a perfect balance of narrative, description, and dialogue, which was all well written. I sat down and read this book in one night. I couldn't have put it down even if I tried (and I didn't try).

The characters were multi-dimensional and larger than life. The heroine, Dr. Siena Carr. Is that lonely, sweet girl next door that you want to have her happily ever after. She is strong, feisty, and just plain lovable! The hero has the rough-around-edges sexiness in a non-Rocky sense. I loved his dedication to his sport and his motivation for being the best.  The chemistry between Siena and Tommy is sizzling. It was such a nice (and sexy) ride to read as they fell in love and Siena get her HEA.

This book had me experience the full range of emotions. I laughed, blushed, cried, and gushed. I would recommend this to the sports-minded romance readers out there. I would give this book five stars. It was a knock out for me. I hope this is the first book in a series.
