REVIEW: Virginia Taylor's Starling

Title: Starling
Author: Virginia Taylor
Publisher: Lyrical Press
Genre: Romance
Format: Kindle
I had the opportunity to review this book and I absolutely fell in love with the heroine immediately. I am definitely not one of the romance readers that enjoys a weak heroine so this book was exactly what I was looking for. It swept me off my feet into a different time and found me rooting for the heroine Starling Smith. Starling is a complete character, with dreams of becoming a dressmaker and the toughness to not be bullied or controlled by any man. I love the inner turmoil that she feels as she slowly starts to show her attraction for the hero, Alisdair Seymour. I love the chemistry and the dynamics between Starling and Alisdair. Their connection and borderline volatile relationship makes this for a fascinating and intriguing read. I loved how the hero had suffered the heart break in the past and makes it his goal to never be hurt like that again.
This book is the complete package. It is well written with intriguing dialogue, description that pulls you back into the time and multi-dimensional characters. The romantic arc is strong, with sizzling and very realistic chemistry felt from their first meet. This is great book to read and I would give it five stars. I loved this book and I know that I will return to read it again.
