I was very excited when I learned that Miss Scott's second book was being released last month and lucky me, I received an ARC and devoured it in one night. I moved only for a quick bathroom break and to get something to drink. I was a very, very tired mommy the next morning, but it was so worth it.
I am a HUGE fan of this book and of Miss Scott's writing. I first fell in love with her writing in the debut novel, Luck of the Dragon. The characters are written so well that they feel like they are real people walking around. The heroes are alpha and hunky, the kind of man that any female would flock to. And the heroines, are no pushovers. These are strong-minded, independent women that don't take no for an answer. And together, the heroes and heroines are a perfect match.
In the world of Paranormal Romance, there is very little that hasn't already been done. Yes, I've read other dragon-shifter series, but Miss Scott's world is different. She has an amazing imagination and the world that she paints is unique and believable. I love the Vegas theme and casino setting, they are the perfect backdrop to the series.
To review Stop Dragon My Heart, it was a fast and fun read. I loved the heroine, Tee. She is a great character and I couldn't help but root for her from the first page. Then there is the sexy shape-shifting dragon hero, Leo. And he is just that - a true hero. When Tee is threatened, Leo steps up to save her. The sexual chemistry between the two is amazing and just sizzles. I love the conflict of Leo having to find a proper dragon mate to save his dragon form, but the feelings that he has for Tee can't be ignored.
Overall, this book was a wonderful read. The writing is great - sexy, sensual and witty. The characters are multi-dimensional and a perfect romantic pairing. The world building is unique and well painted. There is nothing that I can complain about, other than when does the Book 3 come out? This book is a solid five stars and I've added it on my list of favorites for 2014. If you are looking for a fun, sexy read that you can get lost in, then I strongly recommend this book. (Also, pick up Luck of the Dragon if you haven't read it-really, really good too!) I've added Miss Scott's name to my short-list of auto-buys alongside Gina Maxwell, Diane Alberts and Christine Bell.
